Alberto certainly makes a much bigger impression than just plain ol’ Albert, from which it originated. (Perhaps it’s the European flair that the extra ‘o’ gives.) Currently Albert and Alberto—both meaning “noble, bright and famous”— are neck in neck in popularity. Only time will tell who emerges as the victor.
