Elisha is actually an Old Testament name referring to the prophet Elisha who was a follower of Elijah. However, as a girl’s name, it is also a variation of Alice (don’t ask) and a great alternative for the overused Alicia. Just be forewarned that Elisha is really gaining ground as a boys’ name.
