Israel

Israel was the name given to the biblical Jacob after he wrestled the angel of God. It was later taken by the Jewish people as the name of the twelve tribes descended from Jacob’s sons and the name of their modern nation. Those are some big shoes to fill for a boy graced with this moniker which has enjoyed modest popularity in recent years.
