Rebecca

The Biblical Rebecca was the resourceful wife of Isaac and the mother of twins Jacob and Esau. Rebecca is also the title of a famous novel by English author Daphne du Maurier published in 1938, while Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm is a popular children’s novel by Kate Douglas Wiggin. Between the late 1960s and 2000, this name was frequently in the top 25 or 50, but it has fallen in recent years. If Rebecca sounds too dreary for you, try the perpetually sunny sounding Becky, or the cheerier Becca.
