Everything old is new again, and Sophia is definitely on the favoring end of that adage. Experiencing an enormous jump in popularity in the 2000’s, it apparently got a boost in popularity from the 80’s flick Sophie’s Choice (who would’ve thought?) It’s easy to see the allure of the name though—it’s lyrical and feminine with a touch of Italian bombshell—a trifecta of qualities that may be hard to find in any other name.
